GS alumni are an invaluable resource to current students and each other. For this reason, we designed the Professional Guidance section to facilitate and foster a mentoring and networking environment. You can, by clicking on the appropriate link below, browse job opportunities posted by other alumni or post job openings you might have in your organization or business. You can also post your resume for other alumni to view and possibly open the door to new career opportunities.  And finally, volunteer your time to mentor a current GS undergraduate.

If you are a current student, you can view jobs posted by the alumni community and post your resume for GS alumni to view.  In the online Mentoring Program, you can obtain guidance and support from mentors who are currently employed in a particular profession.

The Center for Career Education (CCE) can help alumni and students from GS with their career search. Please visit the CCE at http://www.cce.columbia.edu/gs/. The professional staff of CCE helps students and alumni to evaluate personal abilities, explore occupational areas, plan a job search, prepare for interviews, and develop a résumé. Career panels on a wide range of occupational fields, an alumni career network, and several internship programs are available to General Studies students and alumni.

NEW CCE Dossier Service!
CCE Dossier Service maintains letters of recommendation for students and alumni and sends out dossier files for opportunities in independent schools, industry, colleges and universities. We recommend that you register on-line and open a credentials file in the late summer or early autumn for the year preceding your availability for a position.
