Giving to GS
GS Relies heavily on the continued
loyalty and support of alumni to help the School in its mission
to provide a solid academic education for returning students. External
funding from alumni and friends supports the scholarship/financial
aid program at the School as well as enhancing student life initiatives
and upgrading study areas in Lewisohn Hall. GS recently completed
a $6 million Capital Campaign by raising nearly $8 million. There
are several ways to give back to Columbia: outright cash contributions,
transfer of stock and/or property, and will/bequest provisions to
name a few. This year,
over 100 students received financial assistance through endowed
scholarships and other funding.
These scholarships have been established with gifts of $50,000
or more and will permanently honor the benefactor at GS. The Deans Advisory Council
consists of a number of alumni and friends of GS who provide support
in the areas of development, marketing, policy, and procedure.
